Do These Bands Fux Live?

Only the power of music could lead me to a church in the burbs of Jersey on a Saturday night. Without much room to dance, and only a minimal amount of intoxication, I had no choice but to simply let the music wash over me, like a babe at a baptism. You should avoid the Thai food, while enjoying the spirit of community.

Nearly a year after experiencing one of the single most intense experiences of my life, I returned to the Meadows only to find a veritable throng of monster metal, with one small change: everyone was too scared to mosh. I enjoyed the music but goddam, when the only human contact you get at these things is when trying to bum a cigarette you lose a little bit of what makes metal shows special. Lets get back in the pit NYC.

A Country Western

Quickly developing as the place to be (for as long as it lasts), I went to catch two bands, but a Commie poetry reading waylaid my plans, again causing my late arrival. Still the 2nd band rocked admirably, and a Country Western were the Eagles tonight.

In search of a slightly more relaxed ambiance, I sought the living legend Fly Go[lden] Eagles! Having worked late and arriving just in time for him to take the stage, only to find, inexplicably, he went on first. I took the L, then I took the F home.

Krallice
Greenwich Village

I undertook an epic voyage across the Hudson by boat, then walked from Fidi to Greenwich all to arrive where it had already begun. Featuring two infants (who left after the first set, quitters) in the audience, this show did not lack hardcore. DysRhy harkened, Moran again demonstrated the harpsichord's multifaceted tonality, and Krallice was to death for. Took literally the worst photos of my life, except of the synthboard.

Blind Pilot

January 29th, 2025
As suspected, not only was this my first time listening to this band, it was my first time seeing a show in the Ballroom meaning I was really going in Blind Pilot. Despite flying Han Solo, though the show lacked hardcore. P.S. Always have to stop by my favorite bar to have a Manhattan when I come through (lower) Manhattan.

Starting off the new year with a strong dedication to friends and music. Victor V Gurbo was heart-stopping despite opening, Phil, as usual, gave 'is all, while Sylvania closed things down from behind the harpsichord that can play loudly and softly.

Sometimes you just gotta go to a show even though you know the show will be a no go and you'll end up going home early to avoid the snow.

So not sure what APAP stands for, but if its awesome poppin' authentic pulsations, id have to agree. We arriba'd our way through 4 incredible bands (Top-Left, CW: Yeison Landero, Chicha Libre, Miramar, Crema Paraiso) leaving us with nothing but hapless grins and some sweet vinyls to spin 🪗🎸🥁🪕

What better way to kiss goodbye to a year of 50+ shows across the country than one final blowout for the ages at NYC's new pop up high school auditorium club? When even the cover band is making you feel it ya know it's something special, though WFYE not going on until the 32nd was a bit of a disappointment, 2024/2025 auld lang sighs.
