Do These Bands Fux Live?

Though Deep Sea Diver had been a bucketlist band for a while, unfortunately you really gotta check if there is a new album out. Still she at least captivated with a "You Go Running" and up-and-comers Coral Grief werent bad neither. 3/5

After a testy Uber drive, we finally solved the mystery of FIL's name. Note that they are in 3 of the pictures, while MtB is only in one indicating their relative importance to the night. My companion and I left before the posers could get overwhelmed by the latter's listless bass. 3.25/4. Oh also in Denver!

Oh no L'Eclair is sold out and the venue has a "no moshing" sign. Well better head down literally down the block where the opposite of all that is true. 4.666/5, would rage every time.

Back at the Candy Store since maybe I took in one of my last shows pre-pandemic. They were good enough to squeeze me in for the double header. What more can I say, that Caroline hasn't already? And Dyan, of course. 4/5

On what will be my last visit to Le Poisson Rouge for quite some time it was nice to catch the Tuesday show. Talked to an old guy who swears he saw these Girls perform in the late 70s or early 80s, but Im not so sure. Anyway, they did a pretty good job rocking our socks off, but alas, 4.25/5

A dream 10 (y/t)ears in the making to see CM, only to have that dream cut short by a resplendent limited 30 minute performance. Unfortunately, one good collab with Helado Negro did not a great performer Ela Minus make despite the crowd's strange enthusiasm. 3/5 (mostly from Danz)

After an aggravatingly long start to what I hoped would be an earlier night, the show finally commenced at 8:05. Perhaps it was my seat, or the vibes, or the crowd, but I could only dig so much. Still, having ironically spent $66.62 for the ticket I was determined to kick it up a notch. Finding probably the best spot in the rafters, I relinquished to his requiem that filled the pilloried stones to the brim.

Can the 90s return from the dead and omg I just realized this band was way way older than I thought, like they are actually from 1980. Holy Smoke. These ladies were still rocking hard. 4.95/5 (so they dont get sloppy). Oh first visit to the Market Hotel.

Take in the late summer vibes of doom in the most chill block party this side of the channel. Better yet bring a pal! 5/5 stayin alive

After just missing Pinkie all over town I ended up getting a little more than I bargained for with a full night of cultural hijinx. Come for the pierogi, stay because Pinkie went on last after many, many other bands. Hooray!
