Do These Bands Fux Live?

After a week long agony, I finally found myself some indie. Apparently being called "post-shoegaze" is not a compliment, but I still found to time to wallflower with the best of them in a semi-friendly venue. Let's put South Pasadena on the map!

In need of a quick follow up after the earlier community type event: who knew that El Cid could transform to LA's hottest gay club? 2.5/3 now-i-dos.

Dropping in on the West Coast, heading straight to the heart of the city to see a wonderful jazz orchestra led by none other than Sly5thAve himself. Are we in the age of jazz? 4/5 notes says yes.

Only had to spend 3.5/5 minutes watching this barefoot freak perform to understand why his music no longer available on Spotify. Thank God for the opener. This closes my NYC summer concert lineup.

After a scary moment where I wasnt sure if the 2nd band was the 1st band but fortunately not. The 2nd band played so well and I enjoyed myself so thoroughly. Good to see Emperor X and his gaslighting ass. 4 bands / 5 bands

The opener opened our eyes to what was about to come, which was a near octogenarian rocking the stage from the opening chords to the closing hurrah. Great vibes all around. Sorry girl on tinder who ghosted when I told her the band you missed out. 4.666/5. RIP other guy from Suicide.

With only 16 hours in the Twin Cities I had to make every moment count. DJ Sets at Mortimers did not disappoint. 4/4 curds.

While things seemed good through the start of No Joy's set it quickly became clear this was a venue brimming to capacity with way more people than places to see the bands. Flipper totally won me over, and Blonde Redhead (not pictured) was good enough from distance, i had no way to see Meat Puppets and had to evacuate before Dinosaur Jr reared their slightly better than Father John Misty head. Overall, will put this place on the blacklist, and not in a good way.

In major makeup mode from the night before, I ran, not walked, or maybe biked to catch this Cut Worm. He squiggled his way into my heart through playing at least 6/8 songs I know, which has got to be some kind of record. What a guy.
